The battery passport desk.

From 18 February 2027 a light-means-of-transport, industrial (above 2 kWh) or EV battery placed on the EU market carries a QR code that resolves to its passport — the Annex XIII information, by access level — and from 18 August 2027 an operator above EUR 40 million runs a due-diligence chain on the cobalt, natural graphite, lithium and nickel in it. Records stay in this browser; the seal fixes bytes and a time bracket, and a reader's own browser does the checking.

1 · The economic operator

Who places the battery on the market (Art. 3(1)). The role and the turnover are yours to declare; they decide which chapters bind.

4 · The passport's content (Annex XIII)

Every attribute the Annex asks of this category, in three access levels. Part A is what a scan gets in the open; Parts B and C are published as the fingerprints of sealed documents and disclosed by you to whoever the Regulation entitles. 6 · Seal, then publish behind the code

Sealing fixes the passport's bytes and a time bracket, signed by this browser's key. Publishing writes the sealed passport to your account and opens a page any phone can reach from the QR code — Part A in the open, every stamp checked in the viewer's browser. Withdraw it from the desk at any time.

The Regulation's dates are printed as published; the carbon-footprint methodology and the passport's technical design are delegated and implementing acts still being adopted when this desk was written, and the lines that depend on them say so.
